our mission
our goal is to briefly put the previous week’s political & business news into context, helping you better understand why they matter. we’ll explain big ideas, emerging trends, and overlooked stories in an engaging and irreverent way.
our editorial standards
we will always be correct and up-to-date.
we will always be transparent by linking to source material, using quotes when appropriate, and disclosing funding sources.
we will not always be balanced. not all news events have two legitimate sides to the story (eg climate change, vaccines, etc) and we won’t pretend otherwise.
similarly, we will be opinionated, but we will always allow data to drive our hypothesis, not vice versa.
we will (try) to be funny, knowing that jokes may sometimes be perceived as offensive. we will never be intentionally offensive, derogatory, or defamatory
contact us if you think we’ve failed to live up to these standards.
views expressed in our newsletter do not necessarily reflect the personal opinions of all of our team members.
